Five questions to ask any Utah mobile golf simulator company

  1. Who runs it on the day? A simulator with nobody running it is just equipment in a room.
  2. How much space do you need, including ceiling height? Measure your spot before you book. Ours is on the logistics page.
  3. What happens in the rain or at an indoor venue? Ask about backup plans and cancellation costs.
  4. What is included and what is extra? Travel, deposits, setup time, clubs and add-ons all vary.
  5. How will guests rotate, and can you handle my crowd? Ask how they keep a large group playing, not just watching.

Where Golf to Go Events stands out

Minigames that feel like Wii Sports

Our minigames are the heart of the experience. They play like Wii Sports, but with real-time data, so they feel approachable instead of intimidating. Wrecking Ball, Shark Splash, Boat Blast and Get in the Hole are fast, loud and competitive, and we also run skill games like Closest to the Pin and Longest Drive. Full golf courses are also available to play, including real courses such as the Blue Monster at Doral and the West Course at Wentworth, plus nine-hole courses designed for simulator play.

Equally engaging for adults and kids

A toddler, a teenager and a grandparent can play the same game and all have fun. We have hosted players from age 2 to 80 and up, which is why we are a favorite for family parties, ward activities and community events.

Safety built in, not added on

Safety was a top priority when we chose our simulator, so we picked one where the safety features come from the manufacturer as part of the design. The impact screen sits forward with no crossbar along the bottom, which cuts down on balls bouncing back. Netting lines the inside side walls, and a second net hangs behind the screen. A slice or a poor hit occasionally sends a ball somewhere odd, but it is not common.

One price, whatever the event

We do not charge more because it is a wedding or a big company. Every event gets the same published rates, so a corporate retreat and a backyard birthday pay the same for the same hours.

Two simulators for very large groups

Golf to Go Events is the option with two simulators available to rent. For community events and large corporate retreats, two bays side by side double how many guests get a turn, and each one can rotate about 100 people an hour through Closest to the Pin.

A setup that looks the part

Our enclosure is heavy-duty, commercial-grade PVC tarpaulin, which comes out of the travel bags without wrinkles, and the logo graphics stay crisp. Cords are run tidily so there is nothing loose for guests to trip over, and we work in uniform. Side windows open for airflow, or so the people waiting can watch. It looks at home at a wedding venue or a company event.

Custom event management and optional branding

An owner runs every event, and we plan the games and the rotation around your crowd. You get a published price and one personalized invoice. If you want it, your own banner can replace the front banner on our enclosure, for a corporate event, a trade show or a wedding. Bring your own, or we can have one printed at cost. More on corporate events.

Do you need a high-end launch monitor at an event?

For beginners and most intermediate golfers, no. Lynks uses a Foresight GC3, and Dryvebox uses TrackMan, the radar system the PGA Tour uses to track every shot in competition. Both are pricier launch monitors than our Garmin R10. Carl's Place, a golf simulator retailer, ran the same outdoor test on the R10 and the GC3: 20 shots with a 6-iron, measured against where each ball really landed. The GC3 averaged 2.3 yards off and the R10 averaged 5.1 yards. The higher-end monitors also read spin and club data more precisely, which matters most to a low-handicap golfer fine-tuning their swing or getting fitted for clubs.

At a party, guests care more about beating their friend at Closest to the Pin and having a good laugh than about whether their virtual shot landed exactly where it would have on a real course. Since everyone hits on the same monitor, the contest stays fair. Our Garmin R10 and Titleist Pro V1 RCT balls track that in real time, and the minigames turn it into something playful. If you are planning a practice session for serious golfers who want the most detailed data available, that is a fair reason to look at Lynks or Dryvebox.

Common questions

What is the difference between Golf to Go Events and Lynks Mobile Golf?

Both bring a staffed golf simulator to your event and welcome beginners. Golf to Go Events is built around minigames that feel like Wii Sports with real-time data, works equally well for adults and kids, and offers two simulators for very large groups. Lynks leans toward real courses, with GSPro and a Foresight GC3, and travels farther north.

What is the difference between Golf to Go Events and Dryvebox?

Dryvebox brings a climate-controlled trailer with a TrackMan simulator, or an indoor enclosure, and quotes each event; their site lists $350 to $500 an hour. Golf to Go Events brings a pop-up tent built around minigames for adults and kids, at one published price, with two simulators available for very large groups.

How much does a mobile golf simulator rental cost in Utah?

Golf to Go Events is $650 for the first 2 hours and $150 for each additional hour, the same price for every kind of event. Lynks Mobile Golf lists standard rentals starting at $450 for 2 hours, $550 for their Wedding Experience and $150 for each additional hour, and gives your exact price by quote. Dryvebox lists $350 to $500 an hour, which is $700 to $1,000 for 2 hours, and full-day events from $2,500, and shares pricing for your event after you request availability. Compare what is included, such as games, staffing, setup and travel, before you decide.

Which mobile golf simulator works indoors?

All three need a tall space indoors. Our tent is 12 x 16 x 10 ft and needs 13 ft of clearance for swinging, Lynks' bay is 12 x 12 x 12 ft, and Dryvebox's indoor enclosure is 13 ft wide and 10 ft tall. None of them fits a room with a standard 8 or 9 foot ceiling. A cultural hall, a gym, a warehouse or an event hall works.

Do I need golf experience for any of them?

No. All three staff the event, and none of them expects guests to know how to golf.

Which one can handle a very large group?

Golf to Go Events offers a two-simulator package for very large groups like community events and large corporate retreats. Lynks' site describes a single bay and suggests adding hours for larger groups.
